Another reason for increasing the parking price is that the university has taken some construction plan, which need a big fund and the university planned to finance the fund through the revenue by increasing the parking price. ASU has started building a solar power plant on top of its Apache parking structure that will generate around 1.4 million kilowatts-hours a year or enough to power 115 average homes. As well as the top level of this structure like the sunshade will be a nice perk in the summer.
