If the use rate of parking lot is decreased it will be also problem for ASU to bear the expenses for the construction plan as well as the price enhancement plan will go in vain. Though this university’s problem so the problem have to be solved by the university. ASU can charge little bit higher for the tuition fees but must not much, or ASU can earn more by increasing the price of sporting events.
To carry the expenses ASU should think about reducing the current maintenance costs. It can postponed or lessen some of its expensive programs for a particular period of time to save the expenses. It can also remove somebody from job permanently or temporarily. All of these can help ASU to reduce its current cost, using that saved expenses it is possible to support a part of the total cost needed for the expansion plan.
Conclusion
It is a good decision for the Arizona State University to expand their existing premises, because it is situation demand. But increasing the parking price is irrational and quite unfair for the students. Why students have to pay more for parking purpose, while ASU has many other way to carry the expansion expenses. If ASU follow the prospected suggestions above, ASU can solve their current without increasing parking price. Whatever the ways are followed by ASU, the Arizona State University should not trough the students into financial pressure.
