I have always believed in living a purposeful life geared towards being a productive member of the society. I have always believed that the responsibilities of human beings should be first to themselves and secondly to the people around them. As a result, I worked hard in high school and secured a place in Pasadena City College. In high school, I was an active member of the Model United Nations Club where we debated on the various issues affecting young people. Through the club, we were able to hold various seminars to sensitize young people on the perils of violence, drug and alcohol abuse and engaging in unsafe sex. I also had the opportunity of organizing and overseeing several of the meetings and as a result, I managed to acquire leadership and organizational skills. The skills I acquired helped organize not only my academic and class work but also in personal life. I realized that time is a very important asset that should be used wisely and spent in productive activities. In addition, I was able to build my confidence and public speaking skills.

After high school, I joined Pasadena City College which is renowned for its academic achievements. Apart from seeking to excel in my academics, I was also looking for a club that would be beneficial to me directly career wise. I knew that the transition from academics to career would require the making of a decision that would give me the experience and the prestige to gain a competitive advantage in the job market. I realized that AGS (Alpha Gamma Sigma) honor club was not only a reputable club across America but also a prestigious one. Through the club, I have managed to engage in diverse community-based projects. In addition, I have also been involved in volunteer projects within the school and apart from the teamwork involved I have also managed to meet new people. The club has been helpful since it has ensured that the skills I learned in High School have been complemented. I have been a very strong member in the school both academically and with extracurricular activities always keeping in mind that I not only have the responsibility of developing myself but also the people around me.

My major objective currently is to apply for an IGETC in a UC and I am working hard to finish all the required majors. Before I embarked on the majors I sought advice from my current school and owing to my interests. I was consequently advised to take majors in business and economics and I am looking forward to joining a UC in spring of 2010 as a transfer student. I have always liked challenges because they help in the building of character therefore when learned of the transfer opportunity I quickly embarked on satisfying the pre-requisites.

I have always been a person who likes working with people because I know the strength in combined efforts. I plan to transfers the same beliefs that have taken me through high school and to college when I get the transfer to a UC. I plan to work cooperatively with both my instructors and fellow students to ensure that we excel not only academically but also in other areas too. I believe and have faith that the UC that I will be transferred to will give me an opportunity to develop intellectually as I also seek to do my best in whatever duties and responsibilities I will have by virtue of being a student. Furthermore, I will also seek to give my best in all extracurricular activities that I will engage in. Thank you..
